YWAM York ministries
We are involved with several ministries that have impact locally, nationally and internationally.
There are two goals in our local ministry focus in York. Firstly, Gen. 12:1-3 shows us thats God's desire is to bless us so we will be a blessing where ever we may be. So in being in this place we hope to be a blessing to the local community and the local churches in all that we do.
Secondly, and this is a biggy for us, we originally set up, or partnered with 4 or 5 ministries to provide minsitry experience for our leaders in training. We have a great curriculum and learning structure but in the end of if you can't apply what you have learnt the next day it is all theory that floats around in the brain. We encourage all of our team to get involved in a variety of projects from schools work to the homeless to prayer ministry so that they build on their experiences and start to work out what they are good at and what their main passions and callings are.
YWAM calls this a live learn environment. We believe it is a beautiful and holistic way to grow in leadership. It's how we get seasoned.
